  • Cochran Hill Tunnels, kamiel (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
To get atop the tunnels, park near the service building (it's easy to see) and walk straight across the field. There is a fence in the woods that, since time immemorial, has had a huge whole cut in it for easy access to the scenic view atop the tunnels.
  • Barringer Hill, kamiel (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
Used to be called Kite Hill and also Fag Hill (for obvious reasons). Official name is Barringer Hill. In the gentrified park the Hill is a place to take your dog and let it mingle with other dogs and occasionally scare the crap out of a passing jogger or bicyclist.

They do not make semis there anymore. They stop production of the Aeromax and some other versions about 10 years ago. They currently produce the super duty F series which includes the 250, 350, 450, 550 and 650. Before production was stopped, they produced the Excursion at KTP.

A branch of the Louisville Free Public Library is housed here. Because it pretty much is the Westport Middle School library plus a small room of fiction for adults, it opens to the public at 3 pm on weekdays, after school.
  • White Castle, Suzanne Rebert (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
This is a White Castle. It's a good place to buy small square inexpensive hamburgers. This particular store has lots of parking; the shopping center on this corner once featured a Winn-Dixie supermarket, which has closed.

Rumor has it, they tried to burn down the historic house next to them (twice) so they could expand parking. Historic neighboor hood rules prevent them tearing it down.
